Dogs Currently available for Adoption

adoptedOur original goal was to help municipal shelters find ways to increase their adoptions through the use of readily available and inexpensive technology. We continue to accept donations of working digital cameras and computers to be delivered to any needy shelter.

Our hope is that this donated equipment will increase adoptions of shelter animals by providing the shelters the ability to promote the animals on sites such as petfinder.com, petharbor.com, pets911.org. Research has shown that simply adding a photograph to an adoption advertisement increases the chances of adoption over ten fold.

The main focus of S.T.I.C.K.S. Org. has always been the well being of animals. While we originally started our organization as a way to help county shelters receive the technology to help place the animals in their facilities it quickly became evident to us that alone was not enough - we simply had to do more.

Thus, we decided to roll our sleeves up and get started doing what we've been helping others do - get these animals out of a shelter environment and into real honest to goodness homes. S.T.I.C.K.S. Org. Rescue is able to provide temporary foster homes, proper veterinary care, and a new lease on life. By providing another service to shelters and rescues both. Funded entirely by donations and fundraisers, S.T.I.C.K.S. Org. is pulling these animals from the shelters, providing temporary homes, proper veterinary care, and a free ride to a rescue willing to accept them and be that final step in finding a real home. We even have a few dogs in our homes being fostered until they find a real home.

Our photography gallery of some of these dogs and cats that have come through S.T.I.C.K.S. Org. highlights a few of the faces we have been able to save thanks to the donations from everyone, take a few minutes and look at these happy faces.

According to the American Humane Organization, nearly 10 million animals are euthenized annually in the United States. That's:

adopted 2009

Personally we find these statistics appalling and we have devoted our resources to help fight these horrendous statistics. By helping the shelters find a way to effectively publicize the animals in their shelters to the general public, our goal of reducing these figures is a reality. But, we can't do this alone - none of us can, but together we can't be stopped.

camerasSticksorg.com is devoted to the cause, and has been for some time. By accepting new and gently used digital cameras and computers from the public, we are able to provide these at no cost to the community shelters, rescues, and other volunteers who are then able to make the pictures and upload them to the various adoption websites. It's a win-win for everyone. The donor of the technology equipment is able to take a tax deduction (as defined by IRS Laws) on their taxes, the shelters are able to move more animals out of the shelter environment, the volunteers are able to devote their money to such things as gasoline or maintaining their vehicle so they can continue the daily trips to the countless shelters. But best of all, the animals get a chance at actually having a life, a real honest to goodness home.
